Genius of the Web Awards

The first Genius of the Web awards organised by Web 18, a part of the Network 18 group, were announced on October 18th, at ITC Grand Central, Parel. Genius of the Web Awards is a series of awards in multiple categories that recognise achievements by companies that have done commendable work in the online space.
Yahoo.co.in, Shaadi.com and Orkut.com were announced the winners of Best Portal overall, Best Matrimonial portal and Best Social Networking website respectively.
Yahoo India won the special User’s Choice Award, as well as the Best E-Commerce Site (Online Gaming); Gmail emerged as the Best Email Service Provider (Consumer); and Indiatimes as the Best Email Service Provider (Business).
